Prague - The international architectural office EEA, which was established in 1995 in the Netherlands and now employs 140 professionals in several countries, is being showcased at the Jaroslav Fragner Gallery in Prague. The exhibition will last until October 14, and on October 10, the founder of the studio Erick van Egeraat will give a lecture at the Bethlehem Chapel. The office EEA - Erick van Egeraat associated architects was founded in Rotterdam and has been operating in Prague since 1999. Together with other branches in London, Budapest, and Moscow, it employs over 140 people. This is the office's first exhibition in the Czech Republic. The exhibition features forty projects designed or realized mainly over the past four years. The larger part of the exhibition is traveling and has arrived from Budapest via Leipzig, where it was presented this spring. Through an installation of several screens and physical models made of laser-etched glass, it highlights the relationship between the initial sketch by Erick van Egeraat and the final design. The second part of the exhibition focuses in more detail on the design of the main building and auditorium of Leipzig University, which EEA Prague is currently working on and is set to be completed in 2009. EEA creates projects of all scales: from urban planning, building complexes to interiors and various types - public buildings, educational, cultural, commercial, office, and residential. EEA also acts as a developer. The office in Prague, under the leadership of Marcela Magdičová, is working on projects in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, and Poland, and is involved in other international contracts. In Bratislava, one of its realizations is the River Park project, which includes not only apartments but also office spaces, shops, and services. In Prague, they built a residential complex around the Villa Bianca by Jan Kotěra.
