The Brno exhibition halls will open for the eighth time during the museum night

Brno - The Brno exhibition halls will open their doors this evening for the eighth time during the museum night, which attracts tens of thousands of visitors every year. Last year, the organizers counted a total of 145,000 visitor entries, with long lines at many places. This time, 15 institutions have prepared the program; besides museums and galleries, the Jiří Mahen Library, the Brno Observatory and Planetarium, and the National Theatre Brno are also included.
     A novelty compared to previous years is the symbolic admission fee at some museums. The Moravian Museum will allow tours of all its sites for 20 crowns. The Technical Museum has also set the same price. For ten crowns, interested visitors can view the exhibits and casemates of Špilberk, the Toy Museum, and the Mendel Museum. At other places, the entry remains free or voluntary.
     The museum doors will open at 18:00 and will stay wide open until midnight. Individual museums and galleries are preparing cultural programs, such as expert commentaries at exhibitions, art and craft workshops, author readings, and concerts.
     The transport company will offer special lines that will transport participants to more remote and off-Brno museums. Part of the Brno Museum Night also includes exhibitions from the Museum of Brno in Rajhrad, Předklášteří, and Praci.
