Discussion Panel
February 6, 2015, 6 PM, Galerie Kvalitář

Guests – Verena von Beckerath (architect, Berlin), Manfred Kühne (Department of Urban Planning and Environment, Senate of Berlin), Jürgen Patzak-Poor (BARarchitects), Vladimír Fialka (Institute of Planning and Development of the Capital City of Prague, IPR)

German architects and representatives from the cities of Berlin and Prague will meet at a round table to discuss residential construction. Architect Verena von Beckerath will speak not only about her personal experiences with baugruppe houses, but also about broader issues related to current trends in housing – for example, new forms of neighborhood, changes in individual spatial needs, and the activating influence of baugruppe projects on urban environments. The discussion will focus on the support of the Berlin Senate for the creation of innovative residential projects. The aim of the discussion, as well as the exhibition "Baugruppe is super!", will be to reflect on the possibilities of implementing baugruppe buildings in the Czech Republic. The panel is part of the twentieth anniversary of the Partnership between the cities of Prague and Berlin.

The panel will be conducted in English.

The places for the discussion are already filled; a video recording will be available for interested parties on the website www.baugruppe.cz.

We invite you to the vernissage on February 6, 2015, at 7:30 PM with an opening speech by the Deputy Mayor Matěj Stropnický and the Director of IPR Prague Pavla Melková.
Entry is free.
