Architecture Empowering Space: Alfred Neumann – Life and Work If it weren't for the complicated times in which he lived and created, Alfred Neumann would likely have long been known as the most famous "Czech" creator and theorist of modern architecture. This exhibition is the very first showcase of the work of the world-renowned architect associated with Czechoslovakia and Brno. His theories, visions, and professional successes have been overshadowed by layers of forgetfulness. Now we are gradually revealing his genius again, and with the perspective of several decades, we are able to understand and fully appreciate his key significance for the history of modern art.

Expanding Universes in Contracting Traces: NL Architects In 2010, Ostrava applied for the title of European Capital of Culture 2015 (EHMK 2015), and at that time, the city announced an urban competition for the solution of the Černá louka area near the historic city center. The NL Architects office was invited to submit a proposal that would support cultural development and urban transformation in Ostrava. Černá louka offered a unique opportunity to experiment with a new type of urban park that would combine lush vegetation with real buildings. The concept of the presentation is to showcase a number of projects that are close to the proposals of the Černá louka competition and others that, while speculative, are familiar to us: expanding universes in contracting traces.
