The city of Trenčín announces a public two-stage anonymous urban-architectural-landscape design competition:
Trenčín - revitalization of the pedestrian zone:
The subject pedestrian zone is a very busy public space in an exclusive part of the city, directly adjoining the historic center. However, parts of the environment are less lucrative - mainly due to the surrounding buildings. Therefore, we expect significant and creative urban and architectural input into this environment, appropriate for the individual sections of the pedestrian zone, which have different characters and atmospheres.
At the same time, we expect natural connections between the individual parts, with smooth transitions, overlaps, and linkages, also in relation to the newly reconstructed Mierové námestie. We expect a comprehensive design that will make the entire area addressed and the stay and movement in the city center more attractive and pleasant, appropriately combining busy movement with places for relaxation.
The scope (approx. 13,600 m2) is indicated in the image of the addressed area, while images 1-7 are photographs - examples of the pedestrian zone (the camera locations are marked in the image of the addressed area).
The competition is verified by the Slovak Chamber of Architects.
