The concept of a new funeral ceremony hall by Ivan Kroupa

On Monday, June 13, 2022, a public presentation of the results of the architectural competition for the design of the "Funeral Hall" took place in the meeting room of the town hall in Týnec nad Sázavou.
The city commissioned Ing. arch. Miroslav Vodák to organize the competition, whose group CBAchitektura has the best results in the field of architectural competitions. The city architect Ing. Jan Vaněček also collaborated on the preparation. The competition was announced in January 2022 and concluded in May, when the winning design was selected by an expert jury. For the jury, it was not an easy task, as they were choosing from proposals by five significant Czech architectural studios.
The winner of the competition was the design by the studio Ivan Kroupa architects. It was also personally presented by Ing. Arch. Ivan Kroupa. All other proposals were available for viewing.
The reason for announcing the competition is the unsatisfactory condition of the current funeral hall. The new ceremonial hall will appear dignified and will allow variability depending on the size of the ceremony due to the option of opening glass walls. The ingenious technical solution will offer a dignified and simultaneously sufficiently intimate environment for conducting ceremonies.
The concept of the new ceremonial hall captured the public's attention and sparked lively discussion. There were talks about the distinctiveness of the architectural design and, for example, about the maintenance of such a facility.
Týnec nad Sázavou will gain a functional, architecturally very interesting and bold building with a new landscape arrangement, which will undoubtedly become one of the most significant buildings in the city and will thus connect to the solutions of several other significant buildings that have been created in Týnec in the past.
The town of Týnec will now initiate the process of acquiring project documentation.
