Jablonec nad Nisou – Jablonec nad Nisou requests a subsidy for an architectural competition for a new kindergarten by the reservoir. From the program of the Ministry for Regional Development, it can obtain up to 400,000 crowns, which is about a third of the money needed for the prizes. Jablonec plans to build a new kindergarten for up to 156 children; the city has announced an open architectural competition for the project, estimating the cost of the construction itself at 120 million crowns. ČTK was informed about this today by the spokesperson of the magistrate, Jana Fričová.
"The total costs for the prizes and rewards in the architectural competition for the kindergarten will reach 1.1 million crowns, with the author of the winning proposal receiving half a million, 300,000 crowns for second place, and 200,000 crowns for third place. One hundred thousand crowns will be awarded for a proposal that does not win but brings remarkable partial suggestions and solutions," added Fričová. Overall, the architectural competition will cost the city about eight million crowns, so the subsidy will only cover a small part of the expenses. According to the spokesperson, proposals can be submitted until June 6.
According to the Deputy Mayor Jakub Chuchlík (Pirates), the subject of the architectural competition is not only the solution for the new kindergarten building itself but also the garden and the surrounding area. By the end of next year, the city hall wants to have the project documentation completed, with construction planned for 2025 to 2026. "The new Kindergarten at the Reservoir will function as a detached workplace of MŠ Palackého," added the mayor's deputy. The new kindergarten will be built on the site of the Svobodná school, which is relocating from the area, as well as on the site of a special kindergarten that is a detached workplace of MŠ Palackého.
"We have come to the conclusion that it would be best to demolish the premises and build anew. These buildings were originally created during the 'Z' action (citizen brigades) and are not in good shape in terms of layout, construction, or technical building standards," said Chuchlík. According to him, the plan includes six classes of 26 children each. One of the classes will be specifically for children with special needs; the campus will also include a gym, a ceramics workshop, and a dining facility. The city will address the demolition of the current buildings separately and in advance to prevent delays in the construction of the new kindergarten. The premises also include a transformer station of ČEZ, which will need to be relocated.
