1986 - graduated in architecture from the university in Genoa, Italy
1992 - founded his own studio in Paris, which he relocated to Bologna in 1999 and later opened a branch in Milan
2015 - established the School of Sustainability (SOS – School of Sustainability) for young architects, focusing on the application of sustainable development in practice
2016 - received an award from the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA)
2017 - awarded honorary membership by the American Institute of Architects (AIA)
2018 - was the curator of the Italian pavilion at the 16th Venice Architecture Biennale with the exhibition titled "Arcipelago Italia"
