1977 - graduated in architecture from ESBAL/FAUTL in Lisbon1977-92 - taught at the Faculty of Architecture of the Technical University of Lisbon
1992 - received the international art critics' award
2001-10 - professor and head of the Department of Architecture at the Universidade Autónoma in Lisbon
2004 - received the Luzboa-Schréder award
since 2005 - professor and head of the Department of Architecture at the University of Évora
2007-10 - visiting professor at the University of Navarre
