The site: a low promontory. Nearby there was once a small eighteen-century fort. A most beautiful view over the castle, the ancient town and the landscape.
The programme: a municipal outdoor swimming pool, with three pools including one of learning to swim and one for children. A cafeteria above.
The concept: a square plateau built on the ground, a pergola which defines the space and recalls the belvederes of old, a space for contemplating , and one which may be contemplated.
The building: the pools are excavated in the platform, with the facilities underneath. The cafeteria up above looks down on the pools and the landscape. The geometrical rotation builds up a spiral around the mid-line.
