Biography
Jaromír Stránský was a civil engineer whose professional career began in the 1960s at the SIAL studio of Karel Hubáček. There he worked on a number of projects, including modifications to the tower at Ještěd, independently developing systems for mortar-less masonry and engaging in building physics. He subsequently worked in other studios of the Liberec Stavoprojekt, where he contributed to the swimming pool project at Tržní náměstí, for example. After 1989, he established his own office and focused primarily on work for the Liberec hospital. He was the designer of the reconstruction of buildings H for the Faculty of Education and Economics of TUL. He also participated in the project of the IC TUL building.
Since the establishment of the Faculty of Architecture at TU in Liberec in 1994, he served at the Department of Civil Engineering. His last significant realization was the K70 ski jump in his hometown of Lomnice nad Popelkou, for which he received an award in the Construction of the Year competition of the Liberec Region.
