BuildingThe winery building was designed in 2010 by the architectural studio Burian-Křivinka. However, the winery was only partially realized, and the result unfortunately significantly deviates from the project. The new owner wanted to enhance the winery building and open it to the public. The first step towards revitalization is the establishment of a new wine bar in the space of the former warehouse.
OpeningsThe space needed to be brightened and connected to the exterior. We are cutting large opposing openings. The house can be viewed already from the entrance. From the wine bar area, one has contact with both types of views – a close one to the vineyard, as well as a distant view towards the Nové Mlýny reservoir. The space opens to the terrace with swing doors, while on the other side, there is a large fully glazed bay window, where one can sit with a glass in hand.
SurfacesAll surfaces in the interior are stripped of coatings and cleaned down to bare concrete. The overly damaged areas are filled with cement screeds. The floor has a polyurethane surface in the shade of red wine with a wild texture. One can focus on tasting without worrying if something spills.
FurnitureAll furniture is custom-made from steel and oak wood with various stains. Above the bar hangs a gigantic chandelier in the shape of an ellipse, which is part of the winery's visual identity.
Guests can sit on a spacious bench, which integrates custom-made lamps. Their shades loosely reference a demijohn. The bench has a panel behind it that improves the acoustic comfort of the interior. On the opposite wall, there is a wine rack. The subtle structure consists of steel rods wrapped in leather straps.
A separate lounge is dominated by a large table and a circular wooden ceiling that conceals acoustic panels and integrates lighting. On the walls, soil samples from specific vineyards of the Reisten winery are displayed.
TerraceThe best place to sit is the spacious oak terrace, shaded by a canopy. The terrace opens up to the nearby vineyard and provides a view of the sunset over Děvín.
