Beyond the office garden. In an impersonal industrial landscape with little notion of transparency, the concept of edge is addressed. The boundary (façade) is diminished accordingly and the faint traces of 50 years of garage activity are exposed to view. A new concrete floor conceals a matrix of cables for data, electricity and central heating, while above, a sprayed-on acoustic ceiling appears as a light sprinkling of snow. In between a conflict simmers between the existing scarred walls of the garage and the pristine interventions that betray the new activities. A single glazed industrial wall-system and a collection of old wooden cupboards break up the space while adding further to the contrast.
