The proposed set connects in character with the medium-rise development in the area of the intersection of Přátelství and V streets.
The aim of the design was to create a medium-rise residential development that would be more intense than family houses but would offer its residents the advantages of individual construction. Along with functional considerations, the design emphasized harmony with the surroundings and environmental friendliness. A part of the urban concept, the first phase of which has been realized, includes a common publicly accessible ground floor, which, unlike developments of family houses, does not create an impenetrable barrier in the area. Considering that a wide band of greenery is drawn in the UPn at the eastern boundary, the permeability of the area is important because it allows access to greenery for everyone, not just the residents of the complex.
The volumes of the buildings are designed with respect to the adjacent development of family houses. It primarily involves breaking down individual structures into smaller volumes that correspondingly connect with each other.
Parking is not at ground level but slightly below it - the roof then allows for the use of the space for private terraces primarily segregated by height difference.
The building is technically designed to utilize solar energy and to minimally impact the environment. Electric heating combined with recuperative ventilation and the possibility of using solar panels for heating domestic hot water complement the overall low-energy concept. From an architectural perspective, the environmental concept is supported by the use of "natural" surfaces: wood, metal, plaster.
An integral part of the design is the placement of ground walls and pathways, and an open retention reservoir planted with aquatic plants can be considered a part of the architectural solution.
