Villa, Brno-Jundrov

The new building of the family house replaced the original structure from the 70s, which had problems with ground moisture and did not meet the needs of the future owners in terms of layout. The plot is located on a steep Březová street, has a northeast slope, and is relatively narrow. The neighborhood features houses of various typologies and periods of origin. A certain romantic wildness and diversity is typical for this location. We tried to continue in this spirit.
In our design process, we aimed to proceed like experienced bonsai masters. The maximum mass that fills the width of the plot and is legislatively optimal in terms of built-up area was shaped into an expressive asymmetrical composition through precise trimming. The tension between the individual parts and the whole is mesmerizing, and we hope it will remain timelessly interesting. A seamless integration of the logic of the internal layout with the external organic form is a given.
