Cozy spot in the garden

After several years of living in the suburbs of Brno, the clients wished to expand their family's stay in the existing house with new leisure activities. The retreat in the garden thus combines several new functions such as seating by the fire, bathing in a hot tub, having a beer, sleeping for guests, or simply escaping from civilization. In addition to these activities, the structure also represents a connection of four natural elements: water, fire, wind, and earth, which interweave throughout the space of the retreat during both the day and the year.
The retreat is located in the corner of the plot, adjacent to small buildings on neighboring lots on two sides. The remaining two walls on the opposite side are fully glazed, composed of a folding glass wall. This solution allows the entire structure to be opened towards the garden, transforming it into a shelter perfectly connected with the garden. The entire interior space can be used as a seating area or for bathing, thanks to an electronic movable floor that conceals a built-in hot tub.
