The object is an evolution of the project extension on the bunker (so-called "řopík") from 2017. Since the original object was nearing the end of its lifespan, we wanted to test—using the same principles as the original extension, i.e., minimizing construction processes, involving locals, etc.—the increase in the standard of the object. The original project was implemented with minimal resources through self-help. The structural system was made from formwork boards, and the facade also served as bracing. The openings were filled with polycarbonate sheets. It was unnecessary to change the proven material, so it was mainly a change of the structural system, surfaces, technology, and insulation. The most common design principle in contemporary wooden buildings conceals the load-bearing structure, making the elementary element of the building invisible. Here, the structure made from KVH beams is exposed, and the entire wall composition is placed behind the structure towards the exterior. Due to the plasticity of the interior surface, the cladding is made from planed boards. In contrast, the facade is made from untreated and unplaned larch planks, which, due to their rough surface and quick graying, allows the object to naturally blend into the greenery surrounding it. The main intention was to assess the complexity of the construction process and the cost ratio relative to the increase in the standard of the new object.

Although the structure made from KVH beams is exposed, the building was assembled on-site from individual panels manufactured in Prague. The openings are filled with double glazing. Energy for the LED lighting is provided by a solar panel. The object is insulated and heated with a stove. All windows are fixed (to reduce costs), and ventilation is provided by a hatch in the floor of the object and a hidden duct under the roof.
