The archive building is designed as a series of notches in the sloping terrain of the site. It consists of four elongated masses of varying heights and lengths. Each mass serves a different primary functional purpose, and the entire complex gradually narrows towards the south, in parallel with the shape of the plot. In the middle, a garden atrium is inserted between the masses to bring indirect light into the archivists' workspaces and to cultivate the work environment with a view of the vegetation.
The main building of the depot is left almost without openings; on the other hand, the administration building and the public contact building are glass-enclosed, and the façade’s appearance clearly indicates its content.
The buildings are clad in concrete panels, which, along with carefully placed openings, give the structure a very substantial and stable expression that characterizes its role – a secure repository for valuable documents.
