Family house in Vrané nad Vltavou

Family house in Vrané nad Vltavou
The shape of the small house in Vrané was created based on the limitations of the plot, budget constraints, and the slope of the parcel. No architectural concept was provided in advance; I relied on the fact that all of the aforementioned limits would give me the shape and architecture. It happened. A somewhat bizarre irregular mass formed by itself. As if all the constraints were computer software. I just said to myself that I wanted the living room to face south and the garden, and so on, and so forth. I wanted the house to include some Czech elements to remind us of something we all know.
The resulting solution preserves the western garden with sunlight; the entrance and drive are from the north side, the terrace is on the southeast side, shielded from the road by the house itself, and the living space is lit from the east, south, and west, rotated away from the road. The volume of the house is irregular but maximally compact; it is tiered in height—following the slope of the land—divided three times, each by 0.5 m. This creates unique spaces inside. The division by height is reflected in the living room and the communication area on the upper floor. The house is two stories with a gabled roof (regulation). The living space has an increased ceiling height, illuminated from above. The upper floor contains children's bedrooms, a bathroom, an office, a parents' bedroom with a dressing room and bathroom, and a guest room. All additional items, such as solar panels, a garden shed, and a fence, intrigued me; I deliberately let many things have free rein. The house is brick, clad in cedar wood. The clients enjoy life, though some of their neighbors do not.
