PlotIn general, it can be said that the Beroun area is one of the most attractive locations for family housing in the Central Bohemia Region. The plot for this construction is located on a southeast-facing slope above the town. This area has been under construction for several years, and it is beginning to become pleasantly inhabited. Almost every plot here has very nice views into the valley and of the town's skyline. The same applies to this plot. Access to the land is from the higher northern part, and the plot gently slopes down towards the garden. This allows for maximizing views over the garden area.
Location and orientation of the houseThe house can be divided into two interconnected parts. The main section serves a residential function and is oriented perpendicular to the contour lines, thus significantly expanding into the garden. The second part of the structure serves a storage and service purpose and is located in the direction of the roadway, perpendicular to the main section. This creates an overall shape of the house resembling the letter "L." This shape allows for effective separation of the terrace space from the neighboring plot and access road. On the contrary, the entire terrace opens towards the views and the southern and western sun.
Architecture of the houseThe basic idea is to expand the house into the garden. The house physically broadens and rises toward the sun, striving to make the most of the offered views.
The entrance to the house is from the upper floor on the side facing the roadway. Upon entering the house, it is possible to continue into the quiet area, which runs along the attractive southwest façade of the building, or to descend via a warm staircase into the daily zone of the house. From the entrance hall, the garage, utility room, and wardrobe follow.
The quiet zone has a distinctly rectangular character, where the service corridor with storage spaces is located on the eastern side. The western side is reserved for children's rooms, which, due to this placement, provide ample natural light. At the end of the residential zone is a bedroom with prominent glazing facing southeast into the valley.
The lower floor serves purely daily functions. It houses the living room, dining room, and kitchen, all connected into a unified rectangular shape. A notable feature here is the connection to the terrace through massive western glazing.
The individual operations within the house are formally divided by color and extend into the exterior. The quiet zone is presented in white with window infills in wooden cladding. The stairwell segment is presented as a separate mass entirely in wooden cladding. The technical part of the house has a neutral gray plaster.
