Family house in Prague-Kunratice

The house is located on a relatively small and irregular plot in the middle of a former gardening colony on the outskirts of Kunratice.
A simple small house, whose floor plan surrounds a living courtyard, is positioned on the plot in such a way as to maximize the entire width of the narrow lot. The house and the adjoining courtyard are situated at the front of the plot, while the elevated back garden is accessible through narrow passages along the house.
The house is single-story and unbasement, in the shape of an L.

The layout is based on the wishes and needs of a young family that wants to use the house as a 100-square-meter apartment with a garden.
One wing includes the main living room with a dining area and kitchenette, while the other contains a large children's room, bedroom, and bathroom. The end of the house with the dining area and kitchen is set into the garden terrain, and the entire structure is on a raised platform, just like the garden.
The living spaces are very open and connected to the inner courtyard, which thus becomes an inseparable part of the house.

Given the size of the house and the plot, there is only an outdoor parking space at the entrance. At the end of the garden is a small wooden shed.
The garden is protected by walls and a fence, which is covered with plants; the front garden has no fence. The entire concept of the house is complemented by a green roof with higher vegetation, which should replace the green area on the small plot and visually "wrap" the house when viewed from the outside.

The vertical load-bearing structures are masonry, and the ceiling is visible reinforced concrete. The windows are aluminum, light gray in color, and the floor has a red self-leveling screed.
The furniture is a combination of stained veneer and lacquered surfaces.
The façade of the house is made of brown-violet břizolit and gray fibercement panels. The roofing is made of titanzinc sheet metal.
