Family house, Šebrov
Project:2003
Completion:2006
Built Up Area:240 m2
Built Up Space:1400 m3

The proposed family house is located in the village of Šebrov on the edge of the Moravian Karst. The plot is situated on the upper slope of the valley above the village. The terrain in the eastern part of the plot drops sharply. From here, there is a beautiful view of the adjacent valley with old village buildings and surrounding forests. A traditional urban planning regulation applied to the entire area of the village. Gabled roofs, attics, dormers, and embankments were required...

The longitudinally oriented mass of the house is placed parallel to the longer axis of the plot. The composition of the house is formed by the intersection of three masses. The main rectangular mass of the house has a hipped roof. A lower mass of the garage protrudes from it. The composition is closed by a perpendicular elongated mass of the covered pool. The design of the house attempted to address the requirement for sloping roofs in an innovative way. The final shape of the roof, with its asymmetrical composition, responds to the site: the mass of the house graduates in its southeastern corner, contrasting with the descending terrain. The surface of the exterior walls of the house is made of brick strips, which blend together with the surrounding gabled roofs from a distance. The roof of the house is covered with dark brown roofing. The garage is plastered with a contrasting light gray plaster. The facades are enriched with light wood, which is used on the windows, cladding, and some supporting structures.

It was the investor's wish for all zones of the house to be located on one level. The main functional axis of the house is a two-story entrance hall ending with a spiral staircase. The southern part of the house contains the living zone, which is connected to the exterior pool. The northern part of the house is reserved for technical and operational activities. In the eastern part, a block of rooms for the quiet zone has been designed. Only two children's rooms with a bathroom are located in the attic. The house is partially basement. Here, the technologies and a damp wine cellar are located.
