This new family home follows an experimental series of buildings, where the authors aimed to spatially enrich living spaces minimized to three bedrooms and a main living room with a kitchen. The main spatial shaping tool became the curved staircase, always situated on the so-called "cold" side of the building, usually the north or northeast. The curvature of the staircase then gives the houses a distinctive "aerodynamic" shape from the outside. Under the staircase and on the upper floor, bathrooms and toilets are located in the middle of the curvature, thus minimizing the distribution of water and sewage pipes within the house.
Since the first
two attempts, this house differs by its placement on a fairly steep slope. Access to it and entry into the house are therefore on the upper floor, which also determines the layout of the rooms. In the second floor, there are entrance areas, a cloakroom with a technical room, and two rooms with a bathroom and toilet. On the ground floor, there is a spacious living room with access to the garden with a terrace, a kitchenette, a toilet, and one bedroom. The house is built on classic foundation strips with an underlying concrete slab. The first floor is made of aerated concrete blocks, while the second floor is constructed as a frame wood structure filled with mineral wool and panel cladding. The roof has a gentle slope, slanting towards the northeast and southeast walls, with a peak at the corner chimney. The house is clad in white folded aluminum sheet.
The surrounding landscape is gently rolling, with occasional dramatic terrain breaks, as in the entire Drahanská Highlands. The building stands in the peripherally developed area of the village of Lipůvka in the Blansko District, east of the main road from Brno to Svitavy. In the surrounding development, detached family homes prevail, but directly to the west is an apartment building from the 1950s. To the northeast, the house borders the edge of the forest.
