URBAN PLANNING SOLUTION
The plot for the construction of a family house is located about 130 m west of the village, in a place called Na březích. The landscape gradually rises to the south towards a ridge about 500 m away, which is approximately 20 m higher than the plot, which is 27 m wide and 230 m long. The family house itself is designed as a "solitary" with its own access road, at the site of the original field path leading from the footbridge. The house is 9 m away from the road (front garden) and is oriented in accordance with the plot perpendicular to the road. Due to restrictions imposed by the protective zone of the high-pressure gas pipeline, the building is placed off the longitudinal axis of the plot. This created off-center placement is balanced by both the overall composition of the house’s mass and the layout of internal functional communication and the planting of a double row of trees in the western space. The back part of the plot is composed as part of the surrounding landscape with a lawn and a group of solitary trees. Accessibility is provided from the existing footbridge via a newly built private access road.
ARCHITECTURAL SOLUTION
The proposed house is a two-story, non-basement structure. Its volume is off-centered, built on a rectangular sandy area measuring 12x30 m, which forms the paved part of the plot. The composition of the house is based on the principle of two stacked and mutually rotated prisms. The lower prism measures 9x18x3.5 m and is oriented perpendicular to the axis of the plot, while the upper prism, measuring 9.3x12.4x3.5 m, is rotated 24 degrees in a direction perpendicular to the landscape ridge to the south and consistent with the orientation of historical plots at the foot of the slope. This gap serves as a view into the distant landscape as well as a passage within the house. The mutual rotation of the "prisms" allows for the creation of living terraces on the roof of the ground floor, appropriately oriented towards the cardinal directions.
