The space for the restaurant was created by combining a home decor store and a beauty salon.
The primary task from the investor was to create a typical functional yet elegant and cozy interior for the vegetarian dining halls Dhaba Beas in the prestigious location of Slovanský dům. We also wanted the restaurant's interior to have its own unique identity.
In the sales area, we aimed to divide the large open space into smaller cozy nooks. The placement of a large central bench with a voluminous flowerpot inside helped us achieve this. The bench divides the interior while also being an element that connects it. As part of the renovation, we managed to restore the original shape and function of the skylight, which allows plenty of natural light into the back part of the restaurant. We decided to acknowledge the original reinforced concrete ceiling and columns, which give the interior an industrial character.
The main material used in the interior is oak wood. The oak softens the rough character of the existing reinforced concrete structure, and the designed greenery helps to soften the hardness of the existing constructions and the exposed installations on the surface of the ceiling.
