The observation point is located on the hiking trail Valley of Vydrice, connecting the boroughs of Rača and Marianka, with well-known recreational areas such as Pánova lúka, Studnička Zbojníčka, and Malý Slavín within walking distance. Currently, the area is classified as a so-called quiet zone—without commercial timber harvesting—and in the future, it should become part of the national nature reserve Pramene Vydrice. At present, the territory offers a unique environment characterized by uncut meadows, stumps of former tall trees, fallen trees, and shrubs. The character of the area is complemented by a view of the Small Carpathians mountain range with the iconic Kamzík tower. Due to its nature, wild game such as deer, boars, etc., can often be observed in the area.
The animal observation point is a small wooden structure that also serves as a resting place for passersby, for refreshments, or as a shelter from inclement weather.
A rising footbridge brings visitors to a vertical entrance gap, afterward revealing the space of a terraced plateau that allows various seating arrangements. The view is defined by the asymmetric design of the roof and walls. The entire object is designed from a single type of untreated red spruce beam, measuring 140x200 mm.
The shape and structure of the object are defined by its function, the possibilities of the chosen material, the slope of the terrain, and our effort to design an original object with minimal resources.
