Reconstruction of the interior of the ground floor of a house that is part of the Bethlehem Chapel complex in the Old Town. The building itself dates back to the 14th century and is designated as a National Cultural Monument.
The task of the reconstruction was to transform the existing space for the operation of a bar, gallery, and preparation area for the production of smaller meals. The layout is based on the original/historical design, i.e., three rooms at the front serving as the bar area and a room at the back of the layout, which was remodeled to meet the requirements for kitchen operations, guest toilets, storage, and a cleaning room.
The interior reconstruction was carried out with maximum care and emphasis on preserving its historical value and genius loci. The interior was cleared of modern partitions, screens, non-original flooring, etc., while all original structures were preserved - especially the wooden beam ceiling in the main room and all vertical structures, including the unique passage to the adjacent room.
The main material chosen for the reconstruction was metal and expanded metal, from which the entire bar and wall structure with shelves behind the bar, the fills of niches, or the radiator covers in the back part of the layout are made. The steel constructions were realized by Eisen.cz.
The overall atmosphere is complemented by a collection of various (programmable) lights throughout the interior, including handmade lights in the lounge (by XYZ project). The furniture was colored in dark tones, as were the aforementioned metal elements. The whole exudes harmony between historical and modern architecture.
