Designed by Cecil Balmond in collaboration with the Portuguese engineer Adão da Fonseca, this bridge connects the two shores of the Mondego River in the city of Coimbra, managing to create an access by foot and bicycle to the two parks located in each side of the river. The wooden passage has a small "square" in the centre where the two dislocated passages are joined together. It's a very elegant structure with a very minimalistic design, challenging engineering.
