INTRODUCTION
The winning design of the international public competition for the Czech Republic pavilion at the World Expo EXPO 2015 in Milan comes from the young duo CHYBIK+KRISTOF ASSOCIATED ARCHITECTS. The pavilion is both a home and an experience. Its life, however, does not end with the Expo.
The competition was commissioned by the Office of the General Commissioner for the Czech Republic's participation in the World Expo EXPO 2015. At the end of 2013, architects Ondřej Chybík and Michal Krištof won together with the company KOMA Modular s.r.o., which will realize the pavilion.

PAVILION CONCEPT AND ITS EXTENSION
The concept is based on the temporality of the pavilion and the theme of the World Expo EXPO 2015 “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life.” The motto of the pavilion is water, and the pavilion showcases the latest possibilities of nanotechnological water purification while also presenting the traditional relationship of the Czech Republic to water (spa industry, etc.) through a pool that is part of the public space of the pavilion. The pavilion is a modular structure, and an important aspect of its modularity is the possibility of disassembling the building after the exhibition, relocating it back to the Czech Republic, and reusing the pavilion's modules.

The contemporary architecture of the pavilion refers to the simplicity of the national style — to modernism. The lower part contains a pool, a small amphitheater, and a restaurant. The exhibition spaces are located around a central atrium on the upper floor, along with additional restaurants, followed by an accessible green roof that offers visitors a view of the entire area of the World Expo. The interior of the pavilion is being created in collaboration with leading contemporary Czech artists. Visitors will find the following artworks:
Lukáš Rittstein - figure in the pool, sculpture - laboratory of life
Jakub Nepraš - Blanka Neprašová - sculpture on the roof, Zoo Prague
Jakub Nepraš - Blanka Neprašová - sculpture - laboratory of life
Maxim Velčovský - kinetic sculpture in the central area of the staircase
Federico Díaz - reliefs

The climatic conditions of summer Milan have also been taken into account, as the Czech pavilion offers something extra for often weary visitors. It is up to the visitors to decide whether to relax in one of the three restaurants in the pavilion or in the pool, which is referred to as the “urban pool” or

“Czech Re:Public Pool.” The necessary swimming equipment will be provided to visitors for free as promotional material. Instead of traditional print materials that often end up in the trash can, visitors will receive flip-flops, swimming trunks, and a towel, which will be printed with information about the exhibition and the Czech Republic, allowing them to promote the pavilion in an original way elsewhere. The promotional items will be made of smart materials utilizing nanotechnology, in which the Czech Republic is a world leader.

PAVILION LIFE AFTER THE EXHIBITION
After the exhibition, the pavilion can be disassembled into individual modules and transported back to the Czech Republic, where it can find further uses. Thus, the pavilion will not necessarily await the usual fate of exhibition pavilions, which means deterioration or demolition. The lower part can continue to serve as a restaurant with a pool, for example on Prague's waterfront, while the upper two floors can easily be adapted to serve as a kindergarten, exhibition gallery, or student housing.
