Simplicity, delicacy, and a sense of detail characterize the baby clothes from the company Button Style. This is what we wanted to achieve while working on the interior of their shop in Brno. The design was created in the spring of 2013. The implementation took place in just three short weeks at the end of April 2013.
The spatial layout follows the specific needs of shopping pregnant women or mothers with strollers or some running child. At the same time, it considers the staff's background. All significant activities take place on the walls. A free space is left in the middle of the store, inviting entry and allowing free movement even with a stroller or a baby in the belly or wrapped in a sling.
The assortment of clothes is arranged in niches on one of the longitudinal walls. The last niche protrudes into the space and displays the best pieces directly in front of entering customers. Together with the sales counter, it also designates a “private” area for the staff - behind the niche is a small kitchen for employees. The opposite wall is adorned with a selection of bedding. From the sofa, visitors can “shop with their eyes” while simultaneously resting or feeding their baby. On the antique chest standing right next to it are a few toys and crayons to entertain children while mothers do their shopping.
The material and color solution is derived from the items for sale. The clothes are made from high-quality materials and organic cotton. They emphasize detail, and the color scheme is modest: natural beige is common, while bright colors are scattered in small graphic patterns of prints. The original interest of the investors was to design the space in the style of “Provence”. The assignment of style, along with the properties of the items sold, guided us towards a combination of wood decor and white for the furniture and soft purple for the walls. We omitted ornamental details typical of the assigned style. Instead, the beauty of the clothes and bedding stands out. Along with the back wall of the shop, illuminated and made of oak veneered slats with gaps filled with hand-painted plexiglass, creates the artistic character of the store. The wall was created according to the design and execution of painter Václav Kočí. The soft glowing colored light and light purple paint complement the subdued colors of the clothes.
The realization itself took place in a very short time. Thanks to the skills of the furniture supplier and several of his developed days and nights, everything was literally finished at the last moment. The shop is now open, and we believe it will welcome many satisfied customers in its existence.
