Unique railway bridge with a network arch – the only one in the Czech Republic that won 1st place in the international competition International Steel Bridge Award.

Idea — The clash of two different worlds, nature and technology. The technical structure created by humans sinks into the gentle landscape of Podyjí. Finding a harmonious connection in the form of dynamic lines of the bridge with the graceful lines of nature, the bridge becomes an integral part of nature.

Form — The elegant interpretation of the arch is the primary element of the bridge. The distinct line of the main girders is softened by a gentle curve. A playful interaction of lines and curves unfolds behind the bridge and spreads into the surroundings. This leads to a sensitive connection of the structure with the adjacent landscape. A darker shade and the starkness of the supports achieve a visual dematerialization of the structure.

Color — The main color of the bridge is neutral white, the color of purity and elegance. In contrast to the white, the lower parts of the bridge are adorned with anthracite black, an unremarkable color in appearance to lighten the structure. The color used on the main cables, the transverse bracing, and the railing is yellow, representing the color of the sun, the color of engagement and detail, which attracts attention but does not disrupt the tranquil natural environment.
