Mimóza

Mimóza
Mimóza, an ice cream parlor with a cafe, is an establishment in Bratislava, situated in a corner space in a multifunctional postmodern building. Accents and combinations of materials create a distinctive structure of the facades. The basic concept of the space was therefore the exact opposite, the creation of a clean one-material space with a subtle accent. We start from the original layout of the space, which we modify and add to the background. We hide this behind the receding wall in the ground plan slope as a basis for the entire scene of the space, a paraphrase of the complexity of the object. The basis of materiality is simple, we cover the entire space with a cement screed in a soft tone of color - floor, walls, ceiling and bench for sitting. The bar, the work counter behind the bar and the tables near the bench are made of stainless steel. The purple color accent based on the concept of the graphic design of the operation appears in the space in the form of entrance doors and stools based on the shape of an "ice cream scoop" and its multiplication. The authors of the graphic design are Tereza Maco and Jozef Sklenka.
