This former municipal savings bank is the work of one of Bohemia's most important architects, Bohuslav Fuchs. Built in 1929-1933, the building has all the typical elements of functionalist architecture: the harmony of the interior and exterior appearance, the use of contemporary materials (glass, reinforced concrete, ceramic tiles), and the use of light as a compositional element The building is a listed heritage property. Although it no longer serves its original purpose, its external appearance and most of its interior have been preserved. The name of the adjacent street, "Jihlavská brana", or Jihlava Gate, is reminiscent of the three former gates in the town's previous fortification. The gate was demolished in 1868.
