One of the significant players in the Slovak IT business, the company Websupport, underwent several changes over the past year. The largest provider of web hosting services became a member of an international group and grew so much that it had to leave its old premises and set its sights straight on the newly emerging business district in Bratislava at Mlynské Nivy. The task of designing a working environment for their team was entrusted to the Prague-based Studio Perspektiv. The brief was formulated clearly – to create offices that support the company culture with an exceptional space for meetings.

Motherboard
The strong visual style of the Websupport world and their communication through blogs, vlogs, or podcasts is very easy to succumb to. Even the architects could not resist, and they constructed the workplaces like a computer motherboard – the foundation of the digital world. In the neutrally toned shared area, they embedded the individual functional parts. The spaces for teams adopted the color scheme of the works of the graphic artist Pavol Novák. The work with the scaling of colors and reflections of neon lights in endless mirrors provided the offices at several places with a unique depth of a comic image.

Business / Casual
Even before crossing the threshold of the doors, it is clear that a free and open company resides on the third floor. The view into the main conference room and a comfortable nook for seating lined with wood belong to one of the two larger relaxation zones. Navigation in the space is simple; the corridor intuitively guides visitors to the community space that opens onto the terrace. This has become a favorite center of the office from the very first days, even outside working hours. The “living room” which regularly transforms into a lecture hall, provides an opportunity for not just IT enthusiasts but also the public to peek inside. A large bar table brings people together and quickly became a sought-after spot for shared breakfasts and lunches. The materials used, such as spruce beams or rolled sheets without surface treatment, aim to suppress the perception of a formal business environment imposed by the building. The office reconstruction took place with only minor interventions into the technological equipment left by the previous tenant; the open ceiling has its own character.
The architects' goal in the project was to convey the atmosphere of the comfort of a family home to which all employees were accustomed.
