Interior of the Slávica store

Interior of the Slávica store
The interior of a store with design on the ground floor of the city palace in the historic core of Bratislava. The space has been cleared of all newer construction layers. The interior features simple plywood furniture.
The reconstructed commercial spaces are located in a once-dilapidated building at Laurinská Street number 19. The 19th-century building is now listed as a cultural monument. It is located in the city center, in the immediate vicinity of the Old Market Hall, Manderlák, and the P. O. Hviezdoslav Theatre. The building once housed apartments, studios, and a popular bar.
The dilapidated building, which is under heritage protection and additionally lacked a clear vision for renewal, has been decided by the manager to be utilized similarly to Cvernovka. It has become a place for creatives who appreciate the lower rent prices. They perceive the patina and the restrictions resulting from the object's heritage protection as a challenge rather than an obstacle. In the entrances on the ground floor opposite the theatre, thanks to the project, several new design stores and businesses have concentrated, benefiting from the advantageous location in the city center.
One of the spaces has been reconstructed for the Slávica store, which focuses on authorship design. Currently, it brings together more than 70 Slovak and Czech designers. Here you will find clothing, accessories, jewelry, bags, porcelain, and much more. Most of the pieces are limited editions or products made in small quantities. The store mainly focuses on high-quality local design with creativity.
