Address: Masarykova 723/14, Liberec, Czech Republic

Co-author of the project Young Lions in the Cage, awarded the Gloria musaealis for the best museum publication of 2013, Ivo Habán has prepared a retrospective of Mary Duras, the most significant German-speaking sculptor in Czechoslovakia, for the Regional Gallery in Liberec. Thanks to an extensive loan from abroad, from the National Gallery in Prague and other domestic institutions, the work of Mary Duras is presented comprehensively for the first time in history, divided in the past by the Iron Curtain.
The exclusive sculpture exhibition is conceived in the spaces of the sub-pool hall of the newly reconstructed spa in Liberec, the winner of this year's Grand Prix of the Association of Architects, and was created in collaboration with the Prague architectural office 0.5 Studio.
The retrospective presents nearly sixty sculptural works complemented by drawings and projections. The exhibition simultaneously offers a look at the lesser-known face of the sculpture scene of the interwar period. Part of the exhibit is dedicated to comparing the works of Mary Duras with those of other women sculptors, her Czech and German-speaking contemporaries, whom she met at domestic and foreign exhibitions.
The retrospective is loosely accompanied by a bilingual professional monograph with a catalog of works, prepared by the exhibition curator and published by Arbor vitae in cooperation with the National Heritage Institute, with the kind support of the Czech-German Future Fund.
