The fire station has been designed as a walled ensemble of differently shaped volumes, a little city for the fire fighters. The oval-shape footprint is divided into four functional zones: training centre, workshops and garages and a sports hall. The surrounding wall binds the outdoor spaces such as the exercise court and the sports field into the complex. On the upper levels the offices and bedrooms span as bridges over the garage, bordered with green roof gardens. The triangular volume contains the restaurant and the entrance courtyard with a welcoming rainwater fountain.
