For decades, the old people of Humenné enjoyed themselves at this place, in a restaurant named Dukla. Dances and parties were almost a daily occurrence here. The magnificent functionalist space also had its underground areas, which were reborn at the turn of 2012-2013 and found their contemporary fulfillment.
With the intention or ambition to serve the young but mainly also the middle generation, the authors created a concept that aims to captivate with its aesthetic charisma underpinned by a simple idea. The contrast of the two main materials, pleasant and warm wood versus black gloss - distinctly modern, creates an appropriate tension, let's say even passion, that connects these opposites.
Only occasionally appears a supplementary striking color of pink, which in this concept is an interesting highlight. Fresh and youthful.
The naturally low ceiling was distinguished by a central horizontal U-element made of wood, stretching from the floor through the central wall up to the ceiling, welcoming the visitor from the entrance.
Seating on leather-upholstered benches and chairs is really comfortable. Here, the unmistakable touch of luxury is added by the well-known chair in oak version.
Selected walls feature graphic print texts that, at first glance, may be perceived only as a graphic supplement, but their deeper meaning is also an interesting addition to the idea of the given work. These are poems by writers of the Beat Generation (Ferlinghetti, Jack Kerouac), post-war rebels. Freedom, light irony, and a sarcastic perspective on the mundane and material, returning to relationships, freedom, and love, are a beautiful leitmotif for today's young intelligentsia.
