The unmistakable crown of the Frankfurt skyscraper became part of the Mainhattan skyline in 1993 and is the work of architects and engineers from the New York firm Kohn, Pedersen & Fox. The firm, whose large-scale projects are located around the world (among other things, one complex will also be built in Prague), approached the task of designing an administrative building for the international DG Bank with a clear concept: to unite the two strongest phenomena in the environment into one complex, thus building a commercial zone of the complex from the commercial and business Mainzer Landstraße, while the residential character of Frankfurt's Westend leads to the residential part of the building. Administrative spaces are filled by a 208-meter-high cylinder topped with a soaring crown.
The entrance space to the commercial arcade is enlivened by a sculpture of a floating tie, which corresponds very well with the crown of the building. DG Bank Headquarters, along with
Commerzbank Headquarters, is one of the jewels of the Frankfurt skyline.
