The building plot is surrounded by a field of "catalog" family houses and has an irregular trapezoidal shape. In the design, we responded to the rather uninspiring surroundings with a compact defensive shape of the house, into which the functioning of the internal layout does not penetrate. The floor plan is based on the geometry of the plot. The setbacks from the boundaries of the property are maximized, considering the building program.
The simple shaping of the house is reflected in its austere exterior appearance. The sloped gray prism is only dynamically interrupted by the cut of the terrace and the entrance with the garage. The irregular perimeter masks the true dimensions of the building, making it appear smaller from the street than it actually is.
The layout opens up to the southeastern corner of the garden. The living space on the ground floor is visually connected to the indoor pool and the terrace. The upper floor of the house is intended for the family's private life. The staircase from the entrance hall on the ground floor is illuminated along its entire length by a roof skylight. The parents' rooms are dimensioned above standard, accessible by a second "secret" staircase directly from the living room. Adjacent to it is a passage workroom and a bedroom with a bathroom. In the part of the house that has a lower clear height due to the slope of the roof, there are service rooms. The walkable ceiling made of steel grids above the garage serves as storage.
