The village of Pavlov, first mentioned as early as the 11th century, is today one of the popular tourist destinations in the Czech Republic. The surroundings of the village in the heart of the Pálava Hills not only offer beautiful nature but also historical monuments and excellent wine. In the neighboring Věstonice, one of our most significant prehistoric monuments, the Věstonice Venus, was discovered.

The complex U Venuše by the company Pavlof on the outskirts of the heritage zone of the village refers to it. A new building has sensitively complemented the original cellars from the 18th century, successfully respecting the naturally developed urbanism of the village. The historic cellars found suitable use as the Pálava Wine Gallery, while the upper floors accommodate around 10 apartments.

However, only one of them has become particularly exceptional and smart, as it is equipped with a control system for smart homes. It can be controlled either by built-in panels directly in the apartment or by a mobile device using a downloaded app. For example, it is possible to set lighting scenes, heating, security, zonal audio, or other technologies. Some activities are programmed automatically, such as the backlighting of stairs depending on the time of day or automatic shading of windows based on the set temperature inside and the current weather.

The smart apartment U Venuše - Chauve is a uniquely designed rental showroom that allows clients to experience living with the latest technologies during a holiday or extended weekend. It was created by the company Orange controls, a supplier and integrator of products for home automation and smart living.

The architectural design of the apartment's interior was a collaboration between the Prague 0.5 Studio architects Pavel Nový and Vít Svoboda.

The apartment is divided into three floors. The ground floor features an entrance, which leads through a hallway to the main living room with a kitchen and dining area, or to a bathroom. On the first floor, we find a bedroom and a quiet area with a sofa, armchairs, and a TV. From the adjacent terrace, there is an impressive view of the ruins of the Děvičky Castle. We then ascend to the last floor, the gallery, to relax in the relaxation zone.

The architects chose a moderate color scheme. The natural ash floor is complemented by bleached elements of built-in furniture and the staircase. Only on the first floor did they use a contrasting dark gray shade. This is used on the worktops, the service segment of the kitchen, which gradually transitions into shelves under the stairs, and in the hallway in the wardrobe. The color transition is one-directional from dark service parts to the light living and relaxation zone.

In addition to the main light sources coming from the ceiling, the pleasant atmosphere of the apartment is enhanced by softer lighting from LED strips, which the architects used several times in the interior. They can be seen illuminating the steps of the staircase, on the rear edge of the long bench at the dining table, and as ceiling lighting in the attic.

The most striking feature of the overall minimalist design is undoubtedly the prominent bleached ash staircase. The lightweight construction and the frequency of supporting cables, which are up to two stories high, create an optical separation in the space. The steps are lifted to the ceiling and anchored to the wall. The interior of the apartment is complemented by loose furniture and lights from Czech manufacturers such as Brokis, Ton, and Nadop.

The turned-off network in the last attic floor is just the last pleasantly lightened moment of the entire realization, where the residents of the apartment can comfortably relax.

The smart apartment U Venuše - Chauve, set in the picturesque environment of Pálava, with a beautiful view of the Nové Mlýny water works, is a place that directly invites relaxation and enjoying all the local riches, whether it be a trip into the surrounding nature or a glass of exquisite wine. Moreover, it allows one to experience smart living in practice, with all the technological comfort in perfectly clean design.
