The reconstructed object is located in the built-up area of the city of Brno, in close contact with the city center. The original residential building was empty and uninhabitable. The city of Brno decided to completely renovate it and create new housing units that will serve social purposes and young families.
In the originally three-storey neo-Renaissance apartment building from the first quarter of the 20th century, there were 12 smaller housing units, even with shared toilets in the hallway. The building was designed at its inception mainly with smaller apartments for those with lower incomes, but the architectural and construction quality of the entire building was very good.
During the renovation of the street-facing part, one floor was added, and a two-storey building with four additional apartments was created in the courtyard area. There are now a total of twenty apartments on Mostecká, ranging in size from 1+kk to 3+kk. Of these, eight apartments will serve as social housing.
The result of the complete renovation, including the extension and addition, is twenty apartments, the remediation of the basement, which created spaces for storage compartments and a boiler room, the construction of an elevator, and even green roofs.
