Jo started Bastian Architecture after gaining extensive experience with well respected Sydney Architecture Firms MCK Architects, Tonkin Zulaikha Greer and Paul Berkemeier Architects. Jo's experience in the highly detailed adaptive reuse of public buildings and bespoke hotels has enhanced her passion for well considered, site specific architecture. Whilst at MCK Architects Jo was project Architect on many high end residential projects including the Houses Awards shortlisted project, Bondi Apartment.
Jo became a registered Architect in 2011 after graduating with a Masters of Architecture (First Class Honours) from the University of Newcastle in 2009.
In 2007 Jo was awarded the Eric Parker Traveling Scholarship which allowed her to travel extensively throughout Europe studying and visiting many extraordinary buildings and public spaces.
Over the past 10 years Jo has tutored design, communications + professional practice at the University of Newcastle, University of Sydney + the University of Technology Sydney; Jo currently tutors Professional Practice in the Masters Degree at UTS and in the Undergraduate degree at the University of Sydney.
