Biography
Francesca Trozo studied architecture at TU Delft, ETSAB Barcelona, Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio and IUAV Venice. Under the guidance of Peter Zumthor, she created a diploma project at the Academy in Mendrisio, which she defended with honors in 2001 at IUAV in Venice. In 2001, she collaborated at HTW in Chur with Jürg Conzett on an experimental dry stone construction. From 2001-02, she worked in Peter Zumthor's studio in Haldenstein and in 2003 at Bosshard Vaquer in Zurich. In 2008, she established her own studio Francesca Torzo Architetto in Genoa, Italy. Since 2009, she has been an assistant in the studio of Valentina Beartha at Accademia di Architettura in Mendrisio. Since 2017, she has been a professor at the Norwegian School of Architecture in Bergen, and since 2020, she has been a professor at Accademia di Architettura in Mendrisio, Switzerland.
