Biography
Paul Schwebes was a German representative of post-war modernism active mainly in West Berlin. From 1922 to 1927, he studied architecture, but sources differ on whether it was in Vienna and Darmstadt or just in Berlin. In 1927, he became a collaborator in the studio of Bruno Paul. In 1933, he established his own architectural office and moved to Berlin at the end of the 1930s. In the 1940s, he shared a studio with Rudolf Ulbricht. In the 1950s and 60s, he had a joint office with Hans Schoszberger, and their office was among the busiest in West Berlin.
