Biography
After experiencing World War I, during which he was captured in Italy, he studied in Brno and Vienna. He then returned to Brno, where he established an architectural studio, focusing mainly on commercial portals and interiors. In 1933, he married Thea née Goldmann. In 1942, he was deported to Theresienstadt, where he created designs for the Jewish administration of the camp, and in 1944, he was taken to Auschwitz. After the war, he lived briefly in Krakow, where he earned a living as a portrait painter. He then returned to Brno, but after the rise of communism, he moved to the USA and opened his own office in New York. Part of his designs were created here for the Jewish Welfare Board.
