Prague - The long-time head of the building authority of Prague 1, Oldřich Dajbych, has stepped down. The city district has announced a selection procedure for his successor, in which only one candidate advanced to the second round. The city council is now deciding whether to appoint him or to announce a new competition. This was stated by spokesperson for Prague 1, Kateřina Písačková.

"Mr. Dajbych left based on mutual agreement," the spokesperson said without further details. She added that 11 candidates applied for the announced selection procedure. The first round of selection took place on Tuesday, and according to Písačková, one of the candidates was disqualified due to formal deficiencies, nine were eliminated by the committee, and one candidate advanced to the next round.

"The coalition is now discussing how to proceed with this one candidate and whether to extend or repeat the selection procedure," the spokesperson further stated. She added that representatives of the Prague 1 coalition, including Sobě, the Pirates, My, who live here (STAN, KDU-ČSL, Citizens' Initiative), and the Greens for One, are likely to meet regarding this matter later this week.
