Slezákovy závody from Bystřice pod Hostýnem has been producing bent metal furniture since 1908. They now collaborate with architects on the furnishing of both public and private interiors.
In September 2015, the restoration of the heritage-protected building - the new headquarters of the National Heritage Institute in Ostrava - was completed. The modernist building from 1933, which housed the District Social and Health Institute, underwent a demanding restoration. The priority was to preserve all original structures, elements, and details, or to supplement them with copies. Successful refurbishments of window and door fittings were made, and the cladding, flooring, and cast terrazzo floors, staircase railings, and other elements from the time of the building’s construction were restored and supplemented. The original furnishings in the National Heritage Institute were replaced with replicas from Slezákovy závody: not only in meeting rooms but also in the corridors of the functionalist building. > case study for download
