News from German brands at Salone del Mobile

Every year, more than 300,000 visitors from 165 countries around the world attend the Milan Design Week. It is a true celebration of design in all its glory. Iconic innovations are showcased, as well as new product lines from consumer brands. This year was no different, and we visited the booths of the three most significant German brands.

Walter Knoll

Onsa, this chair will entice you to relax and unwind. Whether you sit up straight, recline discreetly, or lie back completely is entirely up to you. The secret to perfect relaxation lies in the subtle softness of the upholstery and the simply adjustable functions of the
backrest.
The effortless lightness of the Ishino table set can be seen in one particular essence: the pebble bodies appear as if they have been soaked in liquid metal. Whether it’s copper, bronze, or brass, the exquisite craftsmanship of the fine metal surfaces gives the tables a special charm. Each one is unique; it is truly the poetry of pigments.

Dedon

The Milan exhibition by this German leader in outdoor furniture was designed by the design duo GamFratesi, who also introduced a new chair from the AIIR collection. With its light and transparent construction, it embodies the classic chair for contemporary living. AIIR is equally suitable for outdoor and indoor use, being very lightweight, so it’s no problem to move it between these spaces. It is available as a chair and an armchair with tapering teak legs, all in an exclusive color palette that reflects Nordic and Italian influences.
Visitors to the booth could also see the new BREA collection by Barber and Osgerby, or two new color styles of the award-winning MBRACE series by Sebastian Herkner.

Schramm

The home of sleep since 1923, Schramm has prepared several novelties for you this year. Brace by designer Angela Schramm is very compatible due to its low construction height. Charming, bright, and very comfortable, these are synonyms for this bed. The new type of foldable headboard, which won the "Iconic Awards 2018 Innovative Interior Best of Best," is now also available for the iconic Grand Cru bed model. Reading or working in bed is now even more enjoyable. Simple adjustability guarantees uncompromising comfort. In combination with the patented Schramm system, with three mattresses, it ensures perfect sleep.
