The company Delta Light was originally a Belgian family business, founded in 1989 by business manager and designer Paul Ameloot. It gradually developed into a leading position in the market and is currently shaping the development and design in architectural lighting. The company now employs 250 people. Delta Light initially focused on the Belgian market, but quickly expanded to other countries and established many branches there. It is now represented in more than 120 countries. Worldwide, Delta Light is recognized for balance, elegance, functionality, and design. This applies to both interior and exterior lighting. Thanks to its production scope, experience, and knowledge, Delta Light meets both the utility and aesthetic requirements of small as well as large projects. The entire process from design conception, technical processing, prototype production, in-house manufacturing, packaging, and storage all takes place at Delta Light's headquarters in Belgium.
An important step in the company’s history was the relocation of its base in 2006 to a new building in Moorsele, aptly named the House of Light. Besides drawing inspiration from light, the building also serves as an impressive business card for Delta Light, a brand cherished by architects around the globe. The year 2015 will be a year of great ambitious plans for Delta Light. The headquarters in Belgium will be expanded by 8000 m² to an impressive 45500 m² of space. The project has been undertaken by Belgian architect Damiaan Vanhoutte from the architectural office Govaert & Vanhoutte. The expansion of the headquarters will require an investment of approximately 20 million Euros. The main reasons for investing in the project include the expansion of the research and development department, laboratories, and production units, as well as improvement in logistics, international growth, and the company’s high ambitions. The new building will feature the most modern automated logistics center, which is expected to enhance production flow and process management.
Since 1997, Delta Light has published the Detailed Lighting Catalog Lighting Bible, which has gradually evolved from an originally product brochure into today’s reference manufacturing catalog. Since then, it has become an inspiring guide in the field of lighting. It currently consists of over 1000 pages filled with new product designs, materials, technical innovations, and inspiring project photographs. A new edition of this catalog is released every two years. And in April 2015, we can look forward to the presentation of Lighting Bible 11 during the Euroluce exhibition in Milan. In the latest edition of the lighting catalog, as always, you will find a large number of new developments from Delta Light.
For its products, Delta Light has received many awards in the field of product design. Among them are recessed ceiling fixtures iMax, a series of outdoor bollard lights Bazil, and maximally flexible ceiling fixtures Tweeter. Recently awarded products also include the lighting profiles Finnline. These ultra-thin suspended profiles are characterized by elegant, clean design and versatility. They have received the Good Design Award for their design. The profiles are custom-made according to client specifications. It is possible to combine downlighting and uplighting fixtures within them, creating direct or indirect lighting variably. By using different types of fixtures positioned in the profiles, it is possible to achieve ideal illumination of any space in a modern interpretation.
The design awards Good Design Award and Interior innovation award 2015 winner were also awarded to the wall fixtures Forty-5. The magical perspective of Forty-5 captivates at first glance. Its shape is inspired by an exciting play of geometric principles that creates an illusion of perspective on the wall. When looking at the Forty-5 fixture, the observer will literally be subjected to a playful test of imagination. An additional dimension can be given to the fixture through its installation method. Forty-5 can be used as an uplighter or downlighter. It is available in two mirrored finishes, right and left.
